Dear People of the Internet,
I have been a selfish, arrogant fool.
Some of you might call that a bit harsh, especially those who know me in person. But having read over my blog from post one, it has become clear to me that I am changing, and that I must change, my blogging style. For most of my blogging career, I have been writing to a group of people who I do not know, a generic cloud of geekdom that has hovered somewhere in the corner of cyberspace. I thought that if I could just write the sort of things that those people cared about, I would become popular and happy.
But I was not happy. I was, in fact, incredibly depressed. Why? Because I was squandering my writing ability. I was squandering my heart and my soul.
Those of you who have read my most recent series of blog posts have been able to see who I am. I have begun to pour my heart out in my writing again, not caring if I will be read or even liked. This has brought me more joy than I could have ever realized. And I think you all have felt a little of that too.
So, I’m announcing the closure of Duct Tape Alchemist. Don’t panic. All the content on this site will remain up. I’m just not going to be updating it any more.
I will instead be operating a new blog, The Code Of Riza, that will continue in the style and content of my most recent posts. Please follow me there if you have enjoyed them. If not, thank you for a year and a half of good times and craziness.
